PORTALES, NM – Eastern New Mexico University and Lone Star Conference Newcomer of the Year,
Mercy Rotich took home first place in the NCAA Division II South Central Cross Country championships, hosted by Metro State in Denver, Colo.
As a team, the women finished 10
th-overall with Rotich posting a time of 21:47 to lead the pack.
Coley Norcross,
Melina Gryschka,
Nancy Rodriguez,
Sierra Quinones,
Abby Kepfer and
Emily Lewis rounded out the competitors for the female 'Hounds.
The men were paced by
Lorenzo Juarez with a time of 35:24. He was followed closely by Tito Chaidez,
Marcel Skalecki, Gerrett Meyer,
Christian Monroy,
Benjamin Lantz and
Luis Villasenor to round out the squad for the Greyhounds.
