Greyhounds Set Five School Records at MLK Invitational

PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University men's and women's indoor track team posted four provisional qualifiers and broke five school records at the UNM MLK Invitational in Albuquerque this past Saturday. The men's team won the overall event with a score of 68, defeating Kansas and UNAT-New Mexico while the women finished second behind New Mexico JC.

On the women's side, Melina Grychka broke the previous school record in the mile with a time of 4:57.73 and earning a second place finish. The senior from Garbsen, Germany, broke the record by five seconds and her time currently ranks second in NCAA DII. Dominque Zamora broke her own school record from last year in the 60 with a time of 7.81, earning a fourth-place finish.
 
On the men's side, Jacques Hall provisionally qualified in the 60 and ran 0.01 second slower than the school record. Marcus Parker also provisionally qualified in the 200, breaking Victor Cruz's record from last year. Additionally, the freshman was the only freshman that provisionally qualified thus far. Kenneth Lloyd set a new school record in the high jump, leaping 6'8", breaking Michael Moore's record from 2013.
