PORTALES, NM — With two road wins in Lone Star Conference play last week, which included an overtime win over nationally-ranked Angelo State, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (14-3; LSC 10-0) moved up in the latest regional poll. With their seventh straight appearance in the South Central Region of the 2016-17 Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll, the Hounds are tied with Regis for second place.
Eastern was joined by fellow Lone Star Conference competitors Angelo State (4
th), Texas A&M-Commerce (7
th), and West Texas A&M (10
th).
This season marks the first time in program history the Greyhounds have opened conference play with 10 wins. The team is also off to its best overall start since an 18-2 opening to the 1992-93 season.
The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team will return to action on Thursday, to open a two-game home stand against West Texas A&M. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Live statistics and video will be available on GoEasternAthletics.com.
