PORTALES, NM — Like many other programs across the country, the Eastern New Mexico University football team will proudly announce its 2017 signing class on Wednesday. In addition to the annual webpage dedicated to listing all of the new players, the Greyhounds will be holding a press conference at 5 p.m.
The press conference will be hosted and
streamed by KENW.
After serving as offensive coordinator for five years,
Kelley Lee is preparing to make key additions to the roster as his first season as head coach approaches. Several key components will return, which includes All-America running back
Kamal Cass and the LSC's Freshman of the year (quarterback)
Wyatt Strand.
The Greyhounds are coming off their second straight postseason appearance, with a trip to the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl. ENMU has also posted a 17-11 record in Lone Star Conference play over the last four seasons. Over that span, Eastern posted a two wins over NCA Division II powerhouse Midwestern State, which included a 30-28 win that came down to the final play in 2017. The Hounds also have won three of the last four Wagon Wheel Games against West Texas A&M, and rallied from a 28-7, last season.
