Greyhound Women’s Basketball Remains in Division II National Polls

PORTALES, NM — With their best start in a quarter century, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (15-4; LSC 11-1) remained atop the Lone Star Conference standings and in the national polls. After splitting two home games last week, Eastern ranked 23rd in the Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll sponsored by D2SIDA. The Greyhounds also received votes in the WBCA poll for the third consecutive week.
 
The Hounds remained in the top-25 of the Media Poll, after ranking 17th, last week. ENMU also received 23 votes in the Coaches' Poll, for their third straight appearance.
 
The Greyhounds already have posted their most wins in a season (15) since going 16-12 in the 2003-04 season, which also as the last time the team reached double figures in LSC wins (10-4). The squad's 11 conference victories also are the team's most since going 12-2 in the 1992-93 season. On Saturday, Head Coach Josh Prock became the third coach in team history to guide the Hounds to 40 overall wins and 25 LSC wins.
 
The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team will return to action on Thursday, to visit Tarleton State. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. MST.
