CANYON, TEXAS —
Omer Almog and
Coley Norcross registered first and third-place finishes as both the Eastern New Mexico University men's and women's teams finished second at the West Texas A&M Buffalo Stampede. Saturday's meet took place at The Range in Canyon, Texas.
After three top-ten finishes to open the season, Almog took first at the Stampede with a time of 26:33.50. He was followed by five runners from WT, which included runner-up Ryan Thomson at 26:46.71.
Garrett Meyer (27:47.53) and
Lorenzo Juarez (28:08.12) came in seventh and ninth to round out the top-ten finishers for the ENMU men's team.
For the women's team, Norcross finished third with a time of 24:02.38, more than .10 ahead of WT's Aubri Wrye (24:13.49).
Mason Swanson placed fifth at 24:25.03, while
Abby Kepfer,
Cynthia Tovar and
Nancy Rodriguez placed eighth through tenth, respectively.
The Eastern New Mexico University cross country teams will return to action on Saturday, October 21, for the Lone Star Conference Championship meet. The event will be hosted by Texas A&M-Kingsville.
