PORTALES, NM — With a two-game lead for first place in the Lone Star Conference, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (18-5; LSC 14-2) continued to receive recognition in the national polls. After sweeping a two-game home stand last week, Eastern ranked 21
st in the Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll sponsored by D2SIDA. ENMU also appeared in the receiving votes section in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll.
After ranking 24
th in last week's media poll, the Greyhounds jumped to 21

The Greyhounds already have posted their most wins in a season (18) since going 23-5 in the 1992-93 season. The squad's 14 conference wins also eclipsed the previous program best of 12, which had been accomplished in two other seasons. Eastern's 10 home victories are the most since going 10-4 at Greyhound Arena in the 2006-07 season.
The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team will return to action on Thursday, at Midwestern State. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. MST.
