Parker, a native of Phoenix, Ariz., finished second in the first heat with a time of 21.59 and was the only freshman in the 200M to compete at the Championships.

Yesterday, Melina Gryschka and Klaudia Szych each broke the school record, which each previously held. ENMU had never recorded a top-10 finish prior to the events and saw two on Thursday. Szych raced in her final event as a Greyhound, finishing her career as one of the most decorated female athletes in program history. The senior was a four-time national qualifier in indoor and outdoor, five-time LSC champion (three times in the 800 and twice with the distance medley relay team) and broke the conference's record time in 2015. On top of her success on the track, she was also All-Conference in cross country her senior year, finishing in 12th-place at the LSC Cross Country Championships.

Gryschka competes in the finals on Saturday at 3:15 in the mile and again at 4:40 in the 3K.

Following the NCAA Championships, the Hounds return to the track on March 18 to kick off the outdoor season at the Willie Williams Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. For all the latest news on ENMU Athletics, visit GoEasternAthletics.com and follow @ENMUAthletics on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
