Eastern New Mexico University Athletics

Al Bettina retired from ENMU in 1982 as the Dean of the College of Education and Technology. He came to Eastern in 1948 and served on many state education commissions and committees. The Portales resident received the 1965 President’s Faculty Award for Leadership and Service. He was the chair of the ENMU Athletic Committee for 18 years and chairman of the NAIA District Eligibility committee for 17 years. He was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 1982.
