Eastern New Mexico University Athletics

Over an outstanding 27 years at Eastern New Mexico University, Al Garten coached football, basketball and track & field. In 14 seasons as Greyhound football coach, he won 66 games. Over 25 seasons as basketball coach, Garten compiled 263 wins. He also served in the capacity of athletic director. Over his time at ENMU Garten’s teams reached the NAIA tournament five times and he was chosen for the Helms Athletic Foundation Hall of Fame Award by the NAIA for meritorious service in basketball.
