Eastern New Mexico University Athletics

Al Whitehead was a four-year letterwinner for the Hounds in football from 1948-50 and 1953. After earning all-conference honors as a junior at center he served for the U.S. Army in Korea. He returned to ENMU and was an all-conference selection as a senior. Whitehead was an active member of the ENMU Student Council as a freshman and junior and went on to become the Student Body President in 1954-55. He was selected to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1955.
