Freddy Carmona played in the 2008 and 2009 seasons and was a true leader during a historic time for the baseball team. In 2008, he set a program record for hits. The following year, he eclipsed the record again as the Hounds won 12 games in their final at-bat of the contest. Those 12 victories helped propel ENMU to its first appearance in the Lone Star Conference Championships. During that season, Carmona had a team-record 26-game hitting streak. A two-time First Team All-Lone Star Conference selection, he also garnered a selection as the LSC Hitter of the Week. Currently playing fast pitch for Team USA, Carmona’s name remains in numerous places in the top 10 for single-season and career records at ENMU.
