Joe Martin played for the ENMU football team from 1975-77 and was the starting quarterback in 1977. In his final season Martin set a team record with an 88-yard touchdown pass. Martin was the team Most Valuable Player in 1977. That same year he began a coaching career which saw him lead his teams to 13 playoff appearances, which included 11 straight. At the time of induction his career record was 150-54-4 (.735)
