Eastern New Mexico University Athletics

Monte Best was a member of the ENNMU rodeo team from 1975-79 and competed in calf roping, steer wrestling and team roping. In 1978 he was the runner-up champion in the Southwest Region in calf roping and represented ENMU at the Rodeo Finals. In 1979 he reached the championships again after repeating as runner-up champion in the region. Best continued to support the ENMU rodeo program after graduation.
