Pete Hurst was an offensive guard on the ENMU football team from 1950-53. He was a four-year letterman and played on teams with an overall record of 24-14-1. His blocking helped the Hounds post an 8-1 record in 1951, with a 7-1-1 mark the following season. Hurst was named All-New Mexico Athletic Conference in 1952 and 1953. After earning his master’s degree from ENMU, he coached at the high school level in New Mexico and Texas from 1957-1995, and won numerous titles and awards.
