Richard James competed for the Greyhound football and track teams from 1963-66 and was chosen as the Greatest Greyhound in 1966. He split time at offensive and defensive back and earned NAIA District 7 honors on the offensive side in 1966. In track & field James was a sprinter. In 1966 he was named a NCAA Post Graduate Scholar.
