Eastern New Mexico University Athletics

Ron Harkey was a four-year letterman for the Hounds and started every game from sophomore through his senior year at defensive end. In 1972 and 1974 he was named to the “Outstanding College Athletes of America.” Harkey was chosen First Team NAIA All-Region VII in 1973. He also competed four seasons for the track team and was part of the 1974 National Championship team and the runner-up indoor team in 1973.
