Shane Shallenberger played baseball for ENMU in 1975 and returned as an assistant coach in 1996. He set the team records for batting average (.430), hits (80), runs (57), and doubles (22). Shallenberger also tied a record with five hits in a game. His 80 hits also were a Lone Star Conference record at the time. Shalllenberger was a First Team All-Lone Star Conference and First Team All-Region selection.
