William Birkhead was a quarterback for the Greyhound football team from 1974-76. The team registered a 22-10-1 record over those seasons. For his performance in 1976-77, he was selected Greatest Greyhound. Over his career, Birkhead accumulated 2,007 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and completed 140 of 277 passes.
