Jamison Bisch was hired as ENMU Football's Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator in February 2022.
The Greyhounds defense featured six All-LSC Honorable mention players (Beau Burns, Aseli Finau, Kevin McCracken, Zerrian Meander, and Cameron Santa Cruz) during his first season. He helped the defense hold West Texas A&M to 21 points in a 24-21 road win.
Bisch comes to Portales after spending four years at Bemidji State University, an NCAA Division II program competing in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). In his last season, Bisch was the Assistant Coach/Defensive Coordinator and helped the Beavers make the second round of the 2021 Division II NCAA Football bracket. Bemidji State finished with a No. 19 national ranking and won its opening round playoff game against Augustana (SD), 28-24.
During the 2021 season, the “Green Gang” defense recorded 37 sacks (15th in the nation) and collected 24 takeaways (24th in the nation). In total, Bisch has coached 18 All-Conference honorees, three All-Region selections, and two All-Americans with the Beavers defense, including 2018 NSIC Defensive Player of the Year, Gunner Olszewski.
Before heading to Bemidji State, Bisch spent two seasons at Midland University as the Defensive Coordinator/Linebacker Coach in Fremont, Nebraska from March 2016 to February 2018. While there, Bisch oversaw the development of 15 All-GPAC (Great Plains Athletic Conference) honorees. In 2016, the Warriors program led the nation in fumbles recovered (18), while finishing third nationally in 4th down efficiency (19%).
Prior to joining Midland, Bisch spent time at New Mexico Military Institute as the Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Back and Linebackers Coach from February 2012 to January 2016. Bisch helped NMMI to the 2013 Toro Bowl, its first bowl victory since 1999. In 2015, Bisch coached a defense that finished in the top five for forced/recovered fumbles and in the top 25 for sacks in the NJCAA. In addition to coaching roles, Bisch coordinated the NMMI youth camps and was responsible for recruiting in Louisiana, Hawaii, Virginia, Oklahoma City, Okla., St. Louis, Mo., and Las Vegas, Nev.
Bisch began his coaching career as a graduate assistant then running backs coach at Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2010-2012. As a graduate assistant, Bisch worked with defensive backs and linebackers.
Bisch earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Health and Human Performance Studies from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2008. Bisch was a defensive back for the Falcons, being named captain in 2008 and earning all-conference honors in 2007 and 2008. Bisch continued his education at Minnesota State University-Mankato, where he graduated in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Physical Education, Sport Management.
