The expectation of the Athletics program is that student-athletes aim to graduate with a degree from ENMU. Student-athletes are expected to meet all requirements of their individual academic programs and make satisfactory progress each year as required by NCAA DII legislation.
In order to meet those expectations, each student-athlete is expected to:
1. Attend all classes, be a respectable and engaged student, and actively seek your academic success.
2. Follow the expectations of your course syllabus and if you identify potential areas of conflict, to report them immediately to the Assistant Athletic Director of Student Success and your respective Head Coach.
3. NOT miss any classes for practice or training purposes
4. You are permitted to miss classes for attendance to competitions. The window of your missed class permission will be outlined ahead of time to both you and your professor. Any additional missed classes outside of this window are not permitted.
5. Athletic participation of any kind during exam week is not permissible. Should you need to request this permission, contact the Assistant Athletic Director of Student Success for the necessary paperwork for your purpose (ie. postseason).
6. When a student-athlete has a significant illness or injury that requires them to miss class, the Department of Athletics Sports Medicine and/or Team Physicians should notify the Assistant Athletic Director for Student Success and respective Head Coach. The student-athlete should contact the professor(s) directly and to include the medical and/or department contact information if the professor has further questions. Without these steps being taken, any missed academic responsibilities are not permitted due to illness or injury.
If you ever have any questions, concerns, unique situations that don’t fit into this policy please inform the Assistant Athletic Director of Student Success and/or your respective Head Coach
