LUBBOCK, TEXAS — Junior guard
Jordyn Cooper (Texico, N.M./Texico HS) paced the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (1-5) with 11 points, but the Zias dropped a 101-49 decision to Lubbock Christian (4-2), Saturday, at the Lowe's Market Thanksgiving Classic, in the Rip Griffin Center.
Jaylyn Cooper (Jr., G, Texico, N.M./Texico HS) finished with nine points and five rebounds.
Eastern's 29 three-point field goal attempts came within two of the team mark (31), set against American University-Bayamon, on November 23, 2008. The Lady Chaps held a 25-3 edge in points scored off turnovers in the game and a 69.2-25 percent lead in shooting percentage.
Danielle Montoya (Fr., G, Cuba, N.M./Cuba HS) scored eight points for ENMU, while
Jasmine Johnson (Sr., P, DeSoto, Texas/DeSoto HS) grabbed 11 of the team's 33 rebounds. Haley Burton paced LCU with 13 points, six assists and four steals.
The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team will return to action on Tuesday, for an exhibition contest at The University of Texas-El Paso. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
