COMMERCE, TEXAS — 20
th-ranked Angelo State (15-3-1) struck early against the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team (9-8) at the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament, but sophomore forward
Jenna Sievers (Portales, N.M./Clovis HS) tallied the equalizer with less than 10 minutes left in the opening half. The Rambelles took the lead back just before halftime and went on to a 3-1 victory at Lion Soccer Field to advance to the tournament finals.
Sievers' goal was the second in a LSC tournament game in the history of the Zia program and the first since Nicole Bregler scored against Texas A&M-Commerce in the opening round of the 2006 championships. Alysia Carrasco (Sr., F, Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva HS), the Rambelles had four shots in the final minute of the half and took a 2-1 lead on Anderson's second goal of the game, coming with five seconds on the clock.
Anderson completed her hat trick to seal the game with 5:42 left in the game, after taking a pass from Haley Mendel. Angelo Stat held a 22-15 advantage in shots, although each team had nine shots on goal. The Rambelles finished with a 5-3 lead in corner kicks.

Victoria Perez (Sr., D, Rio Rancho HS/Rio Rancho HS), Carrasco and Sievers each had two shots on goal for Eastern.
The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team posted the second-most wins in team history (9) during the season and matched the team mark for LSC victories (6). Coming off a four-win season in 2013, the Zias reached the postseason for the third time in program history.
