PORTALES, N.M. — The Eastern New Mexico University football team (2-2; LSC 0-2) will look to bounce back from last Saturday's 42-31 setback at nationally-ranked Texas A&M-Commerce. This week, the Greyhounds will host Texas A&M-Kingsville as part of Homecoming/Hall of Honors Week.

back-and-forth game at defending Lone Star Conference champion Texas A&M-Commerce. The teams combined for 35 points in the opening quarter, before the game settled down. Eastern scored the only touchdown of the third quarter to take the lead with four seconds on the clock. Texas A&M-Commerce scored twice in the fourth quarter to earn the win. The game was a rare contest in which the Hounds passing yardage (293) exceeding the rushing total (253 yards).
The Javelinas (1-3; LSC 0-1)
dropped a hard-fought decision to Gulf South Conference power, West Alabama. The Tigers charged to a 9-0 lead, but the Javelinas closed to within one score on three occasions. West Alabama eventually held on for the 31-22 victory.
Statistical NotesEastern is eight in the NCAA Division II in rushing offense, ninth in passing and tenth in fourth-down conversions. The running game and passing efficiency have combined to help ENMU rank 15
th in time of possession. Special teams have greatly benefitted the Hounds, as they rank 25
th in net punting. The Greyhounds lead the Lone Star Conference in rushing offense and passing efficiency
Kamal Cass is fifth in the LSC in rushing, while
Jeremy Doucette is seventh. Doucette is also third in touchdowns.
Adrian Horton ranks sixth in the league in receiving yards per game. Cass is also fourth in total offense.
Keylon Hollis is second in sacks per game.
Texas A&M-Kingsville ranks fifth in the nation in passing yards allowed and 16
th in passing efficiency defense. Jordan Thomas is fifth in the LSC in receiving yards per game, while Anthony Autry is eighth. Devonte Williams and Lamont Hills are third and fourth in the league in passes defended. Williams is fourth in interceptions.
Statistically, the Javelinas have transformed from last season. Entering the LSC playoffs last season, Texas A&M-Kingsville was being outscore by a 43.0-16.1 points per game margin. Over four games this year, the Javelinas have been outscored by a slim 26.5-23.2 per-game margin.

after a dominant 40-10 win over New Mexico Highlands to kick off the season. Eastern has won four straight home games and averaged 46.75 points in those contests.
In the SeriesTexas A&M-Kingsville came to Blackwater Draw, last November for the first round of the Lone Star Conference playoffs. The Greyhounds raced to a 34-0 halftime lead, before third-quarter touchdowns from
Aaron Johnson and
Jordan Wells stretched the margin to 47-0. The Javelinas scored on a 10-yard run from Greg Pitre, but the
Hounds added two touchdowns to close out the 61-7 win.
The last time the Javelinas visited Blackwater Draw came on October 26, 2013. The Hounds trailed 3-0 at halftime and scored all
13 points in the third quarter on the way to a 13-10 win.
E'lon Spight's 22-yard touchdown run with 2:18 left in the quarter gave ENMU the lead for good.
