Women's Soccer to Visit Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-Commerce this Weekend

PORTALES, N.M. — With the 2015 season winding down, the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team (4-10-1; LSC 0-7) will open the final road trip of the regular season. The trip will open on Friday at Texas Woman's (7-5-2; LSC 2-3-1) and continue on Sunday at Texas A&M-Commerce (7-5-2; LSC 3-1-2)

The Hounds enter the weekend looking to snap a two-game skid, with setbacks against Midwestern State and Angelo State. Earlier this month, Eastern posted a 3-0 win over Texas-Permian Basin. The Greyhounds are posting a 1.24 goals-against average this season, fourth-best in team history.

On the Road Again
On the road, ENMU is averaging .6 goals per match and posted a 2-2 tie against Lubbock Christian and a 2-1 victory over Texas A&M-International. The Greyhounds have a.29 goals-against average when competing on the road.

The Greyhounds are 7-9-1 against the Pioneers, with a 3-5 mark on the road. TWU garnered a 2-1 double-overtime win in Portales, this season. Last season, Eastern won both games by a 2-1 score last season. The initial meeting between the teams was a 2-1 overtime road victory by ENMU, on October 3, 2003. Five times, the teams have played into overtime, with two going into a second overtime session.

Eastern is 2-15-1 against the Lions and is looking for its first road win in the series. On September 18, 2011, the teams played to a 1-1 tie, in Commerce, Texas. The initial meeting between the teams was an 8-0 win by A&M-Commerce, in Plano, Texas, on October 5, 2003. The programs have played four overtime games, with three going into a second overtime.
