The Greyhounds are looking to snap a five-match skid to Texas A&M-Commerce. Last season, Eastern had the opportunity to claim the Lone Star Conference title at home against the Lions. A&M-Commerce earned a hard-fought 1-0 win and hosted the LSC Championships.

Eastern has gone to overtime four times with Texas A&M-Commerce, with three of those contests going into a second overtime period. The last overtime meeting came on September 27, 2013, and was a 2-1 win by the Lions in double overtime.

The Greyhounds are 6-2 in the series against University of Texas of the Permian Basin, with a 4-0 mark at ENMU Soccer Field. The last time the teams met was a 1-0 setback in Odessa, Texas, during the 2011 season. Eastern's last home contest against the Falcons resulted in a 5-3 victory on September 23, 2010. UTPB claimed a 2-1 lead late in the second half, but three consecutive goals from Eastern provided the spark needed to win.

Only two games in the series have reached overtime, with ENMU winning both times. The Hounds won the first five meetings between the teams.
