PORTALES, N.M. —ON Friday, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team will tip off the 2015-16 season in Durango, Colo., at the Fort Lewis Skyhawks Regional Challenge. ENMU will open the season against Adams State at 1 p.m. MT, and follow with a Saturday afternoon contest against Fort Lewis.
Last season, Eastern returned to the Lone Star Conference tournament after a one-year hiatus, and finished the season with nine victories. With another strong recruiting class,
Josh Prock enters his third season at ENMU and plans to build on the success of his first two years.

Entering the trip to Durango, the Hounds are seeking their first win in a season-opening game since the 2006-07 campaign, which started with a 64-57 victory at Oklahoma Panhandle. Eastern registered a 14-12 season that year.
In the SeriesThe Greyhounds are 3-5 all-time against Adams State, and have posted a 2-2 series mark since the 2000-01 season. Eastern's last victory over the Grizzlies came on
November 26, 2006, by a 68-35 score. Riika Lehtonen scored the first basket of the game, as ENMU opened on a 9-0 run and never looked back. Heather Brown paced Eastern with 16 points, while Elizabeth Richards finished with seven points, 11 rebounds, two blocks and two assists. Adams State won the last meeting between the teams,
58-46, to open the 2013-14 season.
Eastern is 14-11 against Fort Lewis, but has dropped the last six meetings with the Skyhawks. ENMU's last victory over FLC was by a
71-50 score on November 26, 2005, in Canyon, Texas. Eastern held a 13-4 edge in second-chance points, which stemmed from a 51-39 lead on the boards. Tiana Bryant (12 pts, 16 reb) and Elizabeth Richards (10 pts, 12 reb) both posted double doubles, while Riika Lehtonen poured in 8 points.

Last year, Adams State posted a 5-21 mark, with victories over Western State, New Mexico Highlands, Fort Lewis, and Metropolitan State.

Up Next Next weekend, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team will participate in the Lubbock Christian Tournament. The Hounds will play Lubbock Christian on Friday and Texas-Permian Basin on Saturday.
