PORTALES, N.M. — After a strong start to the 2015-16 season in Durango, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team has its work cut out for it, on a trip to Lubbock, Texas. In Lubbock Christian and Texas-Permian Basin, the Hounds will face opposition which combined to win 41 games last season.
The Greyhounds will tipoff against Lubbock Christian on Friday a 6 p.m. MT, at the Rip Griffin Center. On Saturday, ENMU will play Texas-Permian Basin at 4 p.m. MT.

Sarah Stinnett paced ENMU with 14 points,
en-route to an 80-54 win. The win marked the first time Eastern opened the season with a victory since the 2006-07 season. One day later,
Miranda Moore poured in 16 points, while
Johna McClelland added 10 points, as
Eastern nearly defeated Fort Lewis.
LCU opened the season with wins over Colorado State-Pueblo (68-43) and Metro State (72-44). Nicole Hampton paced the Lady Chaps with 17 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
After dropping their season-opener to New Mexico Highlands (59-64), UTPB posted consecutive win over Western New Mexico (66-62) and Arlington Baptist (105-78). Niniva Taito leads the Falcons with 17.7 points, while Shanna Taylor is right behind with 14.7 points per game.

On December 29, 2006, Eastern posted a 73-61 win over LCU. Recent Hall of Honors inductees Heather Brown and Elizabeth Richards combined for 25 points, while Missy Kirkland led ENMU with 16 points. Eastern held a 43-34 edge in rebounding. Lubbock Christian has won the last three meetings.

Up NextIn late November, the Greyhounds will visit in-state rivals, New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico. On Saturday, December 12, Eastern will host Wayland Baptist University, at Rock Staubus Gymnasium, in Clovis.
