LAREDO, TEXAS — In a matchup with 11 lead changes and the score being tied 10 times, the Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball team couldn't manage to hang on in the closing minutes of the contest, falling to Texas A&M International University 88-70 Wednesday.

John Gilliam led the Greyhounds (2-5) with 15 points while Lawrence Domingo added 14.  Javandon Staves was one point and two rebounds away from his first career double-double, scoring nine and snagging eight rebounds to lead ENMU on the glass.

As a team the Greyhounds shot well from the floor, hitting 40 percent of their shots from the field in addition to going 24-32 from the free throw line.  The difference in the game came from the three point line, with ENMU only going 2-10 from deep while the Dustdevils (4-2) went an astounding 9-16 from beyond the arc.

ENMU was outrebounded by a slight margin, recording 28 boards to International's 37.  Turnovers were again close, with the Dustdevils coughing it up 12 times and the Hounds 16 themselves.

An assist from Ladarius Stewart with seven minutes left in the second half resulted in a layup by Stephon Edwards, putting the Greyhounds within one point of International at 64-63.  A three-point basket followed by four consecutive free throws by TAMIU sealed the deal though, eventually pushing their lead higher before the closing horn, ending with an 18 point lead.

The Greyhounds will continue their road trip with a matchup against the Rattlers of St. Mary's University (TX) Dec. 4.  Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MT).
