PORTALES, N.M. — On December 31, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (4-5) will make host Northern New Mexico College (3-13) in the first contest at Greyhound Arena this season. The Hounds will continue their home stand next Tuesday, with the Lone Star Conference opener against Texas Woman's University (10-2).
Eastern enters the home stand looking to snap a three-game skid, which came against
Wayland Baptist,
Seattle Pacific, and
Concordia. Over that stretch, the Hounds have been outscored by a 77.7-60 points per game margin and out rebounded 39.7-34.7 per game. Eastern has held a 32-31 edge on the offensive boards. The lineup has featured four players with a double-digit average over the last three games, with
Kassandra Harris pouring in 14 points, while
Briana White has averaged 13 points per game.
Mikaehla Connor has chipped in 11 points, while
Sarah Stinnett added 10 points.
For the season, ENMU is being outscored by a slim 68.7-65.7 points per game margin. Harris and White lead the charge with 11.2 and 10.4 points per game.
Eliza Martinez is the squad's top rebounder, with 5.2 caroms per game. Eastern had a three-game win streak prior to the current skid.

Monday's contest at Texas-El Paso was canceled due to weather conditions.
Mikaehla Connor was selected to the Sodexo All-Tournament team after she averaged 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and scored a career-best 15 against Concordia. Against the Cavaliers, Connor connected on 60 percent of her attempts from the floor. In early December,
Sarah Stinnett was chosen as the LSC Defensive Player of the Week, after a strong performance at Western New Mexico.

Tori Tucker hit seven of her eight shots to lead ENMU with 17 points.

Pending a game against MSU Billings, Northern New Mexico is 3-12 on the season. The Eagles snapped a nine-game skid with a 72-53 win over Sterling College on Dec. 19th.

Jasmine Johnson staked ENMU to a one-point lead with 17 seconds left, before Emily Spector drained a trey six seconds later. In the rematch, TWU's Andrea Mapua hit a tie-breaking layup with four seconds left.
Texas Woman's has won eight consecutive games and hold a 10-2 record. The losses came against Colorado Christian and CSU-Pueblo. The Pioneers will host Tarleton State and Midwestern State, prior to visiting ENMU.
Last season, TWU posted a 16-13 record and finished fifth in the LSC with a mark of 8-8. The Pioneers defeated Tarleton State in the LSC tournament, but fell to West Texas A&M.
Up NextThe Hounds will conclude their three-game home stand on Thursday against Cameron. The following two games will be at Midwestern State and Texas A&M-Kingsville, before Eastern returns home on January 16, to face Angelo State.
