Audrey Velasquez Bats .500 in Twinbill Against A&M-Commerce                                                                                                                        COMMERCE, TEXAS — Sophomore infielder 
Audrey Velasquez (Las Cruces, N.M./Las Cruces HS) batted three-for-six with a double and a run batted in, but the Eastern New Mexico University softball team (13-9; LSC 1-5) dropped Saturday's Lone Star Conference doubleheader at Texas A&M-Commerce (14-10; LSC 3-1). The Lions overcame a 2-0 deficit to post a 10-5 win over ENMU in the opener and claimed the nightcap by an 8-0 score. 
The contest marked the first two meetings between the programs. The series will conclude, tomorrow, with a doubleheader at 11 a.m. MT. 
Game 1The opener saw the Zias get off to an explosive start, with eight batters coming to the plate in the top of the first inning. Eastern used RBI singles from Audrey and 
Elizabeth Velasquez (Sr., LF, Las Cruces, N.M./Las Cruces HS) to seize a 2-0 advantage. Texas A&M-Commerce pulled even with a two-run double from December Rivers in the bottom of the inning. Rivers would cross the plate later in the inning to give the Lions a 3-2 lead they would not relinquish. 
A&M-Commerce added a two-run blast from Aundia Romero in the third inning, to seize a 5-2 lead, but 
Morgan Green (Jr., 3B, Carmichael, Calif./Del Campo HS/Sacramento City College) cracked a two-run homer in the sixth inning, to pull ENMU within one run, 5-4. The Lions plated five runs in the bottom of the inning and held on for the win. 
Audrey Velasquez batted three-for-four. Romero tossed 5.1 innings for the Lions and scattered six hits. 
Aja Secheslingloff (Fr., P, Acampo, Calif./Lodi HS) fanned five batters. 
Game 2The Lions broke the nightcap open with a five-run first inning and pulled away for the win. The game ended after five innings, due to A&M-Commerce holding an eight-run lead. 
Kyra Sirag (Jr., C, Garden Grove, Calif./Rancho Alamitos HS) had a double for ENMU and has reached base safely in nine straight games. 
Susannah Chandler (So., SS, Farmington, N.M./Piedra Vista HS) singled in the fifth inning to extend her hit streak to a team-best 11 games. Courtney Moore scattered four hits over six innings to earn the win for the Lions.
