PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University men's soccer team tied with Rogers State University, 1-1, on Saturday afternoon at Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium in Portales. The Greyhounds manufactured seven shots on goal by the Hillcats to move to 4-5-3 on the year and 2-4-2 in Heartland Conference action.

James Gutierrez made 11 saves in goal for Eastern while the defense withstood a 27 shot effort by Rogers State. The Greyhounds limited the Hillcats' opportunities in the second half, allowing just three shots on goal in the final 65-minutes of action.

Robbie Leonard lobbed a free kick from the right-side of the box before finding the foot of
Nicolai Alstrom who buried the ball into the back of the net from five yards out to give Eastern a 1-0 edge. About seven minutes later, Niall Angus booted the equalizer for RSU, coming from the right-side of the box from seven yards out.

Alstrom paced the offense for Eastern, firing three shots in 110 minutes in the draw. The Greyhounds utilized nine corner kicks, including two in the second overtime, but were unable to break the tie and force home the game winner.
