LAS VEGAS, NEV. — The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (7-3) held the 23
rd-ranked scoring team in the country to just 67 points, in Monday's contest at the Holiday Hoops Classic. Western Washington (7-3) managed enough offense to snap the Greyhounds' six-game win streak in a 67-55 setback, at Doolittle Arena.
Daeshi McCants posted her first double double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Vikings, ranked 21
st in the latest D2SIDA Media poll, snapped a two-game skid and won the first-ever meeting between the programs. WWU came into the game averaging 78.8 points per game.
The Turing Point
- Johna McClelland hit a pair of free throws with 4:17 left in the first half to pull the Hounds within 24-22
- The Vikings responded with a 6-1 run and took a 30-24 lead into halftime
- The Hounds would again close within six points, 40-34, on a Sarina Johnson trey in the third quarter, but could come no closer as WWU pulled away
Beyond the Box Score
- The game marked the third time in the last four games ENMU has outrebounded its opponent
- The Hounds are 4-1 on the season when outrebounding the opposition
- The game also marked the seventh straight game ENMU allowed 68 points or less
- Eastern allowed just two three-point field goals and has allowed four or fewer treys in each of the last four games
- McCants' double double was Eastern's first since Kassandra Harris had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the opener against South Dakota Mines

- ENMU held a 15-8 lead on the offensive glass and an overall 38-35 edge in rebounding
