PORTALES, NM — After a strong start to Lone Star Conference play the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (4-2; LSC 2-0) will return home to host Texas A&M-Commerce and Tarleton State. The game against A&M-Commerce will tipoff on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Tarleton State game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start, after Greyhound Arena hosts graduation ceremonies.
The Greyhounds enter this week's contests on a three-game win streak. That run of success includes the Greyhounds first road win over West Texas A&M since a 70-62 victory on January 19, 1981. ENMU also posted wins over New Mexico Highlands and UT Permian Basin. The Greyhounds are receiving votes in the latest D2SIDA South Central Region Media Poll.

The Greyhounds are coming off a huge weekend to open Lone Star Conference play. Last Thursday, ENMU
 overcame a strong performance from University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Despite UTPB rallying from a 19-point deficit, the Hounds managed to stay close and took the lead for good with 20 seconds left. For an encore, Eastern posted its 
first road win over seventh-ranked West Texas A&M since January 1981, and overcame a 12-point deficit to do it. With the victory, ENMU handed WT its third home loss since the start of the 2013-14 season. For their efforts, 
Mikaehla Connor and Daeshi McCants were chosen as the LSC Players of the Week.
Kassandra Harris leads a balanced scoring attack with 10.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. The senior forward is shooting .510 for the season. McCants and Connor are right behind, with 9.5 and 9.2 points per game. 
Johna McClelland is shooting a team-best .543 from the floor. Over six games, the Greyhounds are positive in both the rebounding and turnover differential and hold a .375-.370 edge in shooting percentage.
Josh Prock is in his fourth season as head coach of the Greyhounds and has a 29-57 record at ENMU. He ranks third in career wins at Eastern and trails only Wayne More (318) and Dan Buzard (47).
In the Series with Texas A&M-Commerce
Eastern is 31-27 against Texas A&M-Commerce, with a 19-8 mark in home games. The Greyhounds have won two of the last three meetings, 
which included a 73-65 win at Greyhound Arena last season. Harris led the way with 20 points, while 
Sarah Stinnett added 17 points. McClelland and 
Jordyn Cooper each contributed 14 points.
 
The series dates back to the 1984-85 season, which saw the teams split. Each team won a home game that season, with the Hounds earning an 83-66 decision at Greyhound Arena.

With a 6-2 record and 2-0 mark in Lone Star Conference play, the Lions are tied for tenth in the latest 
D2SIDA South Central Region Media Poll. Texas A&M-Commerce is on a three-game win streak and has won six of its last seven.
Last season, A&M-Commerce posted a 16-13 record with a 9-7 mark in Lone Star Conference play. The Lions entered the league tournament as the five seed, and dropped a 78-74 decision to Tarleton State.
Jason Burton is in his third season as head coach at A&M-Commerce and has a record of 36-29.
In the Series with Tarleton State 
Eastern is 12-31 against Tarleton State, with a 7-14 mark in home games. The Greyhounds are looking for their first win in the series 
since a 59-54 decision on February 24, 2007. ENMU rallied from a 10-point deficit to post the win and was led by a 20-point effort from Heather Brown, while Elizabeth Richards poured in 13 points and grabbed six rebounds.
 
The series dates back to the 1980-81 season, which saw the TexAnns pick up a home win by a 78-56 score.

Tarleton State inters the week with a record of 3-4, and a 2-0 mark in LSC play. The TexAnns are on a two-game win streak with a win over Midwestern State and overtime victory over Cameron. TSU will visit Western New Mexico University, prior to their game at Greyhound Arena.
Last season, Tarleton State posted a 17-11 record, with a 10-6 mark in the LSC play. The TexAnns defeated Texas A&M-Commerce in the opening round of the LSC Tournament, before falling to West Texas A&M in the semifinals.
Misty Wilson is in his third season as head coach at Tarleton State and has a record of 37-25.
