Greyhound Women's Basketball Ready for LSC Tournament Game Against Angelo State

PORTALES, N.M. — Last week, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (10-16; LSC 5-11) concluded the regular season with a hard-fought game against Lone Star Conference champion and 12th-ranked West Texas A&M. The Greyhounds will head to the conference tournament for the fourth time in the last five years, and face second-seeded Angelo State.

The Hounds are being outscored by a slim 66.3-62.8 points per game margin and outrebounded 40.7-39.2. Sarah Stinnett leads ENMU with 12.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and a .355 shooting percentage. Kassandra Harris is right behind, with 12 points, 5.2 boards, and a .434 shooting percentage. ENMU is 2-1 in neutral-site games this season, with victories over Adams State and Texas-Permian Basin. In neutral-site contests, Mikaehla Connor has scored a team-high 13 points per game.

Entering the tournament as the seventh seed, Eastern has registered its first double-digit win season since 2006-07. The last time ENMU reached double digits in wins, the lineup featured recent Hall of Honor inductees, Heather Brown and Elizabeth Richards.

In Recent Action
Eastern enters the tournament looking to end a three-game skid. The Hounds' last win came in a dramatic 76-72 decision against Midwestern State, which saw the team rally from a 19-point deficit.
 
The Rambelles have won four of their last five games, and closed the season with a victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville.

The Greyhounds and Rambelles have split the last six meetings, although Angelo State swept this season's series. In two meetings this season, Kassandra Harris has averaged 13 points and 6.5 rebounds. Jordyn Cooper and Mikaehla Connor have been right behind, with 11.5 and 11 points per game, respectively.
 
When the teams last met, Harris paced the Hounds with 14 points and eight boards, while Cooper added eight points. Taylor Dorsey and Jasmine Prophet combined to lead ASU with 35 points.
