Greyhound Women's Basketball Prepares for Three-Game Road Trip

PORTALES, N.M. — With a strong showing on Wednesday night, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (8-11; LSC 3-6) has won two of its last three games. Now, the Hounds will prepare for a three-game road trip, which will take them to Angelo State (14-5; LSC 7-2), Texas Woman's (17-5; LSC 7-3), and Cameron (12-7; LSC 6-4).

Eastern is being outscored by a slim 65.3-63.5 margin, but holds a 40.0-39.7 edge in rebounding. Kassandra Harris has been ENMU's top scorer, with 12.9 points and 5.5 rebounds. Sarah Stinnett is close behind, with 10.6 points and 4.9 caroms per game.

In Recent Action
On Wednesday, the Greyhound defense turned in a superlative effort against Texas A&M-Kingsville. ENMU allowed a season-low .237 shooting percentage and blocked a season-best nine shots. Eastern capitalized on the defensive effort to post a 67-42 win and sweep the season series from the Javelinas.
 
The Rambelles are on a four-game win streak and went into triple overtime on Wednesday to earn their first road victory over West Texas A&M in 11 years. Angelo State is currently just one-half game out of first place in the LSC, behind the Lady Buffs.
 
Texas Woman's snapped a two-game skid on Sunday, with a 64-58 win at Midwestern State. The Pioneers will visit Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday night, before they host ENMU next Tuesday.
 
Against Angelo State
Angelo State rallied from a five-point deficit to defeat the Greyhounds, 79-61, last month. Eastern has won three of the last five meetings and rallied from a 22-point second half deficit to earn a 65-56 win in San Angelo, last season.
 
Last season, Angelo State posted a 9-18 record and finished ninth in the LSC with a mark of 4-12.
 
Against Texas Woman's
Texas Women's University has won the last five meetings against Eastern and holds a slim 8-7 mark at home against ENMU since the 2000-01 season. Last month, TWU overcame a 10-point deficit to earn a 59-54 win over the Hounds in Portales. Kassandra Harris posted a double double with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals in the game.
 
Last season, Texas Woman's posted a 16-13 record and was sixth in the LSC with a mark of 8-8. The Pioneers defeated Tarleton State in the opening round of the LSC tournament, but dropped an 82-74 decision to West Texas A&M, in the semifinals.

The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team will conclude its three-game road trip, next Thursday at Cameron. The following two games will be at home against Midwestern State and Tarleton State.
