OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. —
Kyra Sirag came home in the top of the eighth inning when
Morgan Green reached on a throwing error, as the Eastern New Mexico University softball team (11-31) posted a 6-3 extra-inning win at Oklahoma Christian (16-21). The Eagles bounced back to claim the nightcap by an 8-0 score, Saturday at Tom Heath Field.
The win snapped a 12-game skid for the Greyhounds. The split included ENMU's first win over OCU since the 2001 season and moved the Hounds to 2-3 in the series. The opener marked Eastern's first extra-inning game of the season.
Natasha Kissell batted three-for-three in the win, with a double and three runs batted in. After Sirag scored in the eighth, Kissell followed with a two-run double.
Kiana Zerr went the distance in the circle and scattered nine hits to earn the win.
The Eastern New Mexico University softball team will return to action next Friday, to open a Lone Star Conference series at West Texas A&M.
