PORTALES, NM — After earning a sweep on a road trip against Western New Mexico and Texas Woman's, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (10-3; LSC 6-0) is off to its best start in conference play since the 1998-99 season. This week, ENMU will host Cameron and Midwestern State
On Thursday, the Hounds expect over 2,000 in attendance for Youth Day against Cameron. The contest is sponsored by Wienerschnitzel and will tip off at 10 a.m. Saturday's game against Midwestern State will be sponsored by Bank of Clovis. ENMU Athletics will hold its Military Appreciation Day on Saturday and admit military personnel and immediate family members, free of charge. Saturday will also be a 'Best Neighbor to the North Event' and Clovis residents with proper identification will be admitted for free.
How to Follow the Games
The legendary "Voice of the Greyhounds" Dr. Don Elder will be on hand, to broadcast the contests on KSEL radio. Both games will be video streamed on GoEasternAthletics.com, and live statistics will be available.

The Greyhounds are 6-0 in Lone Star Conference play for the third time in program history. The last time ENMU had such a start came in the 1998-99 season. The only other time came in Eastern's title season of 1992-93, when the team claimed victory in its first nine league games. Last week, Head Coach
Josh Prock became the third coach in ENMU women's basketball history to register 20 wins in LSC play.
Kassandra Harris leads the Greyhounds in scoring with 11.2 points per game. She also averages 5.6 rebounds per contest and boasts a .510 shooting percentage.
Mikehla Connor pours in 10.1 points and averages 3.5 assists per game.
Josh Prock is in his
fourth season as head coach of the Greyhounds and has a 38-58 record at ENMU. He also is the third coach in ENMU history to win 20 games in LSC play.
In the Series with Cameron
Eastern is 20-14 against Cameron University with a 13-4 record at home in the series. Last season,
Eastern rallied from two separate 15-point deficits in Lawton to snap a four-game skid in the series. The Hounds outscored the Aggies 23-9 in the final quarter and netted the game winner on a
Sarah Stinnett jumper with just 10 seconds left. Stinnett paced ENMU with 26 points, eight boards, and five assists.
Johna McClelland just missed a double double with nine points and 12 rebounds.
The series dates back to the 1987-88 season, which saw the teams split. Each team won a home game that season, with the Hounds earning a 55-52 decision at Greyhound Arena.

Cameron is 4-8 entering Thursday's game, with a 2-4 mark in LSC play. The Aggies recently split a four-game home stand, with wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
Emma Andrews is in her first season as head coach at Cameron after two years as an assistant coach.
In the Series with Midwestern State
Eastern is 16-27 against Midwestern State with a 10-10 record at home in the series. Last season,
Eastern rallied from a 19-point deficit to snap an eight-game skid in the series with a 76-72 win. The Hounds outscored MSU 27-14 in the third quarter and took its first lead of the second half on a
Jordyn Cooper trey as time expired in the third quarter.
Sarah Stinnett poured in 28 points and had four steals. ENMU enjoyed a 27-2 edge on fast break points.
The series dates back to the 1985-86 season, which saw Midwestern State win both games. ENMU won the following two games in the series.

Midwestern State has a 3-9 record, with an 0-6 mark in league play. MSU will visit Western New Mexico, prior to playing the Greyhounds. The Mustangs are on a two-game skid, but picked up an 81-59 win over Texas Wesleyan on New Year's Eve.
Noel Johnson is in her ninth season as head coach at Midwestern State and has a record of 121-115.
