ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The trio of Jasmine Hotchkins, Brandi Gomez and Sarina Johnson combined to connect on 11 three-point field goals for the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team in Wednesday's exhibition against NCAA Division I University of New Mexico at The Pit. Eastern took an early lead, but the Lobos pulled away for an 80-66 win.
For the second straight exhibition, ENMU held a lead on the offensive boards, with a 14-13 advantage over the Lobos. The Hounds also finished with a .390-.260 edge in three-point shooting percentage.
Gomez paced the Hounds with 20 points and grabbed five rebounds, while Johnson poured in 11 points and had a team-high seven boards. Dasia Johnson dished out eight assists and chipped in five points. Hotchkins contribute 11 points for the Hounds. Cherise Beynon and Tesha Buck each scored 17 points for UNM.
The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team will open the regular season against South Dakota Mines & Technology at the Fort Lewis Tournament. The contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT, on Friday, November 10
th.
