Last Saturday, Eastern earned its first victory of the season with a 53-34 win at New Mexico Highlands. Eastern's 34 points allowed against a NCAA Division II opponent were the fewest since a 68-36 win over Adams State on November 26, 2006. The last time the Hounds held any team under 40 points came in a 75-36 victory over University of the Southwest (NAIA) in the 2013 season.

The Hounds limited New Mexico Highlands to a .222 shooting percentage and earned a 53-34 victory Saturday afternoon at the John A. Wilson Complex. Kaylee Edgemon led the way with 11 points, while Shelby Jones poured in 10 points.

Eastern is currently being outscored by a slim 56.7-54.7 margin but are out-rebounding the opposition by a 41.7-35.7 margin. The stingy Greyhound defense is allowing just a miniscule .195 conversion rate on three-point shots.

Returning First Team All-Lone Star Conference selection Mikaehla Connor leads Eastern with 9.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Shelby Jones is close behind with 8.7 points and six boards, while Jasmine Hotchkins chips in eight points per game. Second Team All-LSC choice Daeshi McCants adds 6.7 points and 4.3 caroms.

In his fifth season, Head Coach Josh Prock ranks third on the ENMU career win list. Under his direction, Eastern has a 46-66 record, which included the program's third 20-win season and second LSC title. He is just one victory away from tying for second on the career wins list.

Last season, Colorado State-Pueblo posted a 28-4 record and reached the semifinals of both the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Shootout and the NCAA Division II South Central Regionals. The Thunderwolves saw their season ended in overtime in a 70-67 loss to West Texas A&M.

CSU-Pueblo ranked as high as fifth in the nation this season, and bring a 2-2 mark into this weekend's competition. The Thunderwolves two losses come at the hands of undefeated and eighth-ranked Lubbock Christian, and 15th-ranked Northern State. Their two wins are against Texas A&M-Commerce and Davenport.

Molly Roher leads three players in double figures with 16.3 points per game. Tuileisu Anderson averages 12 points, while Katie Jones chips in 10 points per game.

Eastern has a 5-7 record against Colorado State-Pueblo, but the teams have split the only two neutral-site meetings. On November 9, 2013, the Thunderwolves earned a 73-64 win over ENMU. The last time ENMU defeated CSU-Pueblo came on the road by a 56-44 score on November 20, 1999.

Tantashea Giger leads Texas A&M-International with 18 points. Passionate Amukamarais averages 15.3 points, while Jaden Gonzales chips in 10 points per game.

Eastern is 1-1 against Texas A&M-International and earned a 74-70 win on December 12, 2014 at Rock Staubus Gymnasium in Clovis. Eastern held a nine-point lead midway through the second half, but A&M-International closed to within two points on three occasions. Tori Tucker and Sarah Stinnett hit four free throws to seal the game before TAMUI's Anbesse Bezait hit a trey at the buzzer.
