PORTALES, NM — The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (20-8) enters its first NCAA Regional after the third 20-win season in program history. Over the season, ENMU rallied from three deficits of at least nine points (12 at West Texas A&M, 9 vs Tarleton State, and 14 vs Cameron).
During the 2016-17 campaign, ENMU has dropped back-to-back games just twice, and is looking to snap a three-game skid. The Hounds are 3-1 in overtime games this season, with wins over South Dakota Mines & Technology, Angelo State, Tarleton State (double OT), and a loss to Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Tipoff against University of Colorado-Colorado Springs is set for noon MST on Friday. The NCAA Division II South Central Regional will be hosted by Colorado State University-Pueblo.A link to the official tournament site will be posted when available.

The Greyhounds have been in the national and regional polls for most of the season and claimed a share of the Lone Star Conference title with a 16-4 record in league play.
Mikaehla Connor earned LSC Offensive Player of the Week twice and Defensive Player of the week one time. Daeshi McCants garnered a selection as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
Kassandra Harris paced the Hounds with 11.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while Connor poured in 11.4 points per game.
The Greyhounds are 4-2 against the tournament field this season. They swept LSC tournament champion Tarleton State, and split with Angelo State and West Texas A&M. ENMU is 1-1 this season against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and has not played a team from the Heartland Conference.
Josh Prock is in his fourth season as head coach of the Greyhounds and has a 45-63 record at ENMU.

Eastern is 1-1 against University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and most recently dropped a
62-59 decision in Golden, Colo., on Nov. 15, 2014. UCCS rallied from a 14-point deficit in the game. Current graduate assistant
Jasmine Johnson had four points, six rebounds and a steal in the game. Eastern earned a 65-55 win at UCCS on Nov. 16, 2003. Jereena Bosket had a double double for ENMU with 10 points and 14 boards.

The Mountain Lions are currently on a five-game win streak, which carried them through to the RMAC Tournament Title. UCCS held Regis to 16.9 percent from the field in the championship game to earn a 53-37 win.
The Mountain Lions are 2-2 against the tournament field. The won two of three games against Regis, and dropped a road game to CSU-Pueblo.
Last year, University of Colorado-Colorado Springs finished 21-10 and reached the NCAA Regional tournament. The Mountain Lions dropped a 70-43 decision to West Texas A&M, in Lubbock, Texas.
