Hayden Zuniga Scores as Greyhound Women’s Soccer Goes Double Overtime Against Grizzlies

PORTALES, NM — Hayden Zuniga tallied the first goal of her career for the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team (0-1-1) after picking up a deflection from a free kick, 9:07 into Sunday afternoon's match at Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium. For the second time in the home stand, the Greyhounds went into double overtime, but Adams State (1-1) rallied to a 2-1 victory early into the second extra session.
 
The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team will return to action on Friday, September 8, to take on Texas A&M-International. The neutral-site match will be played in San Antonio, Texas and begin at 4 p.m. MT.
 
Head Coach Ryan Spence
  • "For us it's the little things that are getting to us," said Head Coach Ryan Spence. "We are doing the big things, but it's a new coach and new system. We have growing pains. I feel comfortable, but the little things are missing."
  • "Opportunities are there," Spence added. "It's not like we aren't getting chances. We also aren't getting beat defensively."
