ODESSA, TEXAS —
Zach Parker scored a team-high 24 points for the Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball team (8-12; LSC 3-8) in Saturday's Lone Star Conference match up at the UTPB Gym. The Greyhounds dropped a 94-77 decision to ninth-ranked University of Texas of the Permian Basin (18-2; LSC 10-1).
In back-to-back road games against the 11
th and ninth-ranked teams in the country, Parker averaged 20 points.
Beyond the Box Score
- Eastern's 10 turnovers were the teams fewest since the previous meeting against UTPB, in November
- The Hounds have shot above 70 percent from the free throw line in five of the last six games
The Big Runs
- After trailing by 17 less than 10 minutes into the game, the Hounds closed within 13 points three times shortly afterwards
- With just over seven minutes left in the opening half, ENMU faced a 35-20 deficit
- Nick Brown hit a trey followed by two free throws to ignite a 9-2 run which pulled the Hounds within eight points
- In the second half, Eastern would close within six points, but could come no closer as the LSC's highest scoring team pulled away

- Maurice Coleman scored 12 points, dished out a pair of assists and had two steals
