ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico women's basketball team completed their second of three tune-up games against Division I opponents on Sunday afternoon.  

The Hounds dropped a 91-43 decision at the hands of the University of New Mexico Sunday afternoon inside Dreamstyle Arena in exhibition action. Eastern New Mexico kept pace with the Lobos for the majority of the opening quarter, but 10 unanswered points in favor of UNM put the host team ahead 19-9 after the conclusion of the opening period.

The Lobos seized control of the game following the first break in action and never looked back, scoring 20 or more points in the remaining three quarters and limited the Hounds to a team shooting percentage of 25.9 percent (15-of-58). Senior Shelby Jones pulled down a team-high seven rebounds on the afternoon while junior Tilasha Okey scored a team-high eight points.

Guard Dasia Johnson was next on the stat sheet for Eastern with seven points on an afternoon in which 12 different Hounds recorded points. The Hounds found a wealth of production coming off the bench throughout the game and totaled 27 points off the bench in the contest.

Eastern New Mexico will now travel to Fort Collins, Colo. for their final exhibition game of the season against Colorado State University. The Hounds will then officially begin their regular season schedule with two games next weekend in the Lone Star/Rocky Mountain Challenge.

Eastern will square off with New Mexico Highlands on Friday night inside Greyhound Arena at 6:30 p.m. and will then wrap up play in the tournament on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. against Fort Lewis.
