SAN ANGELO, TEXAS — Junior guard
Zach Parker reached the 20-point mark for the fifth time this season and matched a season-high with five three-point field goals. The Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball team (5-12; LSC 10-8) nearly pulled of their first sweep of Angelo State (18-9; LSC 9-8) since the 2012-13 season, before the Rams rallied for an 86-83 overtime win at the Junell Center.
The Key Runs
- Angelo opened the game with a 17-7 run
- Thee Hounds exploded with a 10-2 surge capped by a Parker trey on the fastbreak to close within two points, 19-17
- The Rams pushed the lead back to six points, but ENMU use a 11-4 run fueled by seven points from Parker to take a 32-31 lead, with 4:13 left in the opening half
- The teams went back and forth with ASU taking a 49-46 lead early in the second half
- The Hounds put together their strongest segment of the game and went on a 17-2 run which lasted for 6:46 of play
- Andre Hughes scored five straight points and Parker drained another trey to close the run and give ENMU a 63-51 lead with 10:10 left in regulation
- The teams exchanged buckets the next few minutes before a Ran Tut jumper sparked a 16-1 Angelo State run which stretched into overtime
- James Kirksey hit two free throws with 3:03 left in the extra session to give the Rams a 75-72 lead
- The game would be tied twice more before Angelo State narrowly held on for the win

- ENMU held a 19-10 edge in second-chance points
- The lead changed hands six times with seven tie scores
- Eastern held a 48-37 rebounding advantage with a 26-14 edge on the offensive glass
- ASU led 21-11 in points off turnovers
- Parkere finished with 23 points and two blocked shots
- Arcaim Lallemand had his second double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds
- Shawn Shelton had 15 points
- Devin Pullum chipped in 10 points
- Ja'MichaelBrown paced the Rams with 23 points, nine assists
