Webster and Perez Homer as Hounds Explode in Series Finale

PORTALES, NM — Eurick Perez and Garlind Webster both homered as the Eastern New Mexico University baseball team (16-12; LSC 2-6) exploded for 12 runs in Saturday's Lone Star Conference series finale at Greyhound Baseball Field. After scoring a combined 11 runs in the first three games of the series, the Hounds got off to a quick start and pulled away to defeat Cameron (13-18; LSC 3-5), 12-5 in the finale.

In his fifth season at Eastern, David Gomez became the second head coach since the baseball program was reinstated in 1992 to win 100 games. Phil Clabaugh coached from 1992-2011 and won 363 games.

Inside the Series
  • With the split, ENMU moved to 22-20 at home against the Aggies
  • The series marked the first win or split at home against Cameron since the 2014 season
