Women's Basketball Wraps-Up Exhibition Schedule Against the University of New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico women's basketball team finished its exhibition slate with a 99-56 loss to the University of New Mexico Wednesday night.

The Hounds will be battle tested when they enter the 2019-20 regular season after facing its third Division I opponent of the preseason.

Junior Natalie DeLonge finished one point and one rebound shy of a double-double as she led the squad with nine in each category. The Klamath Falls, Ore. native also blocked a pair of shots and swiped a steal as the Hounds would force 11 Lobo turnovers on the night.

The Lobos would score in the first 30 seconds and rattled off nine consecutive points to begin the game as the home team established a lead they would not surrender.

Junior Alivia Lewis grabbed five rebounds and would finish second on the squad in scoring as she recorded eight points with half of her offensive output coming from the charity stripe. South Carolina State transfer Jasmine Williams turned in a well-rounded performance tallying seven points, seven boards and a steal.

The Hounds will begin regular season play next week when they travel to Durango, Colo. to take part in the LSC/RMAC Conference Challenge. Eastern will face New Mexico Highlands on Friday, Nov. 8 with the tipoff time to be announced.Â
