LUBBOCK, Texas — Eastern New Mexico women's soccer concluded its 2019 season this afternoon following a tough 3-0 loss to Lubbock Christian.
The Hounds were limited to just four shots, three in the first period, with junior
Hayden Zuniga, senior
Jaci Sievers and sophomores
Carly Kowalick and
Desiree Morgas finishing as the shot takers for Eastern. The Chaparrals scored the first goal at the 23:30 mark before tacking on another pair in the second half.
The result moves the Greyhounds to an 8-8-1 overall record and a 5-8 mark in conference play as they finish in eighth place in the LSC standings, narrowly missing out on the final tournament spot.
Junior keeper
Whitney Dockweiler started the match in net for ENMU, totaling seven saves before senior
Kirsten Lane took over in the final seven minutes and finished with a save.
Sophomore midfielder
Desiree Morgas turned in a solid campaign finishing with nine goals and four assists. Morgas is tied for the conference lead with four game-winners and ranks third in total goals while her 22 points are tied for fourth. The El Paso, Texas native has recorded the third-most shots (64) and the fourth-most shots on goal (30).
