PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico women's basketball remains undefeated on its home court after defeating Oklahoma Christian 80-69 Saturday afternoon.
Junior center
Alivia Lewis finished with her second consecutive double-double, her fourth of the season, totaling 15 points and 12 rebounds to go along with an assist, a steal and a game-high four blocks. Sophomore post player
Kamirah Decker scored a career-high 15 points, matching Lewis's total to lead the Greyhounds offensively and also corralled eight rebounds and swiped three steals.
The Hounds showed why they are the best rebounding team in the Lone Star Conference and dominated the glass the entire game, out rebounding the Eagles 51-37. Eastern was extra explosive on the offensive end of the floor with 22 offensive rebounds and converted those opportunities into 12 second chance points.

Zamorye Cox added 12 points, three assists and three steals while senior post player
Jasmine Williams scored 11 points, hauled in six rebounds and dished out a pair of assists. Defensively the Green and Silver forced OC into committing 21 turnovers as Eastern finished with 14 steals and six blocks as a team.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 9-4 lead to begin the game and held their advantage for four minutes before Cox nailed a three-pointer from the corner to put the Hounds up 13-12. ENMU would maintain the lead for the remainder of the game and closed out the first quarter with a 23-18 advantage.
Eastern struggled from the floor in the second period shooting just 18.8 percent from the field but the Hounds were able to overcome their shooting woes by protecting the basketball and constantly getting themselves to the free-throw line. The Greyhounds shot 17 for 21 from the charity stripe in the first half an went to the locker room leading 39-27.
The Hounds capped off a 16-0 run to begin the third quarter of play highlighted by three-pointers from Cox and junior guard
Laura Rowe to build their lead to 18 points, the largest of the contest. Oklahoma Christian played well in the third frame, outscoring the Hounds 23-16 and shot 61.5 percent as a team to trim the deficit to just four entering the fourth quarter.
The two teams alternated scoring runs down the stretch but the High Plains squad curbed the Eagle's momentum with ten fast break points and added another 11 from the free-throw line to hold on for the victory. The Hounds move to 9-2 overall with a 3-2 mark in LSC play.
Eastern will take a two-week hiatus for the holiday break before taking on rival West Texas A&M in a grudge match scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m.
