LAWTON, Okla. – The Eastern New Mexico bats struggled to push runs across in the series opener at Cameron as the Hounds fell 10-0 at McCord Field in Lawton, Okla. on Thursday night.
The Greyhounds (13-24, 1-12 Lone Star Conference) could only muster four hits against Aggies (16-22, 7-6 LSC) starter Drew Henderson, two of which came off the bat of senior second baseman with singles in the first and sixth inning. Cameron scored their 10 runs on 10 hits in the contest.
The Hounds biggest threat came in the first inning as the Hounds got a pair of runners on after an Ankerman leadoff single and an Enrique Perez walk, but could Eastern could not knock in the go-ahead run.
Cameron got the momentum early, taking advantage of four hits and a pair of ENMU errors in the first to lead by five after one inning of play.
Tristian Bowden tallied Eastern's lone extra base hit came in the seventh with a double down the left field line in the seventh.
The Greyhounds will look to bounce back tomorrow as Eastern will play a doubleheader against Cameron with first game getting off to a 4 p.m. start.
